1) Can I request my own laboratory tests?
Yes! After Hours Laboratory (AHL) offers individuals and business direct lab access to CLIA-waived lab tests (see “tests we perform” tab for details). We have availability days, evenings, and weekends for your convenience. Unlike other large commercial laboratories, AHL offers straight-forward, clear pricing on all of our products (typically much less expensive because of lower overhead).
2) My doctor has ordered a lab test for me. How do I arrange for lab testing at After Hours Laboratory (AHL)?
All lab tests are by appointment only. However, same day service is frequently available. Appointments can be scheduled directly on this website’s homepage. You may also schedule an appointment by calling our office at (281) 978-4280.
3) How long does it take to receive the lab test results?
The lab report is usually available within 24 hours, and many times much faster if time permits. Results can either be picked-up in person or emailed/faxed (using HIPAA compliant process).
4) Do you take insurance?
After Hours Laboratory is a small, private facility located in Katy, Texas. Due to the low-volume nature of our lab, we currently only accept cash, debit or credit card. Fees are very affordable, and may be eligible for reimbursement from your insurance company (if eligible). Please call your insurance company’s customer service line to check if this is an option for your insurance policy.
5) I am a “hard stick.” It is very difficult to insert a needle to get a venous blood draw from me on my arm. Are there any options?
Yes. Alternate site testing (that is, drawing blood from a location other than your vein of your arm) may be available. Please inquire to see if you are a candidate for this. While this may be an option for some, this may impact the accuracy of some tests.
